Marquez dropped to 13th position in the opening lap due to a poor start when his visor tear-off got trapped under his bike, yet he managed to recover and narrowly surpass Jorge Martin.

Team leader Carchedi informed TNT Sports, "Our strategy was to remain behind Jorge, conserve the tyres to the utmost, and make our move at the finale."
The initial circuit was a game-changer. The moment he found himself trailing Pecco… by the time they reached Turn 3, it was evident that his riding style had transformed from the beginning of the weekend.
"During the final three or four laps, he navigated the turns in a totally unique manner."
Despite not securing a victory at Phillip Island because of Marquez's maneuver, Pramac's Martin remains at the forefront of the MotoGP standings.
Carchedi was questioned about whether they anticipated Martin to be content with second place, as it would strengthen his lead in the championship.
"Carchedi mentioned, 'That was our assumption. As Marc moved ahead initially, our thought was 'excellent, hopefully [Martin] is focused on the championship'."
"Yet, he persevered, striving right up until the final moment."
"In conditions of rain, you observe riders easing up slightly… followed by a tumble. His approach was to exert effort relentlessly until the final moment."
Martin refrained from making a frantic dive towards Marquez during the final moments in an attempt to clinch victory at the Australian MotoGP.
Yet, Carchedi thinks it wasn't his own prudence from being at the forefront of the championship that deterred Martin, but rather Marquez's influence.
"Carchedi mentioned, 'From our perspective, we emerge strong from the final corner.'"
"Was the uncertainty centered on our ability to maintain the lead up to the initial turn?"
The initial instance it happened, Martin believed he had to adjust and consider a different location.
This weekend, captivating video clips emerged of Marc at Turn 3. They're not only visually impressive, but also showcase his remarkable speed.
"He was aware that the prime chance lay at Turn 4."
With three races left in the season, Marquez trails the championship frontrunner Martin by 79 points following the Phillip Island event.
This year's championship may be elusive, but Marquez's impressive performance in Australia serves as a foreboding signal for 2025, when he will be equipped with the newest Ducati technology.
