Carlos Sainz Tops Ferrari One-Two in US Grand Prix Practice Session
Carlos Sainz was the fastest in the practice session for the United States Grand Prix, outperforming his Ferrari F1 colleague Charles Leclerc.
Carlos Sainz led the standings in the sole F1 practice session of the weekend at the United States Grand Prix.
As the sprint format makes its comeback at the Circuit of the Americas this weekend, teams were allotted a mere 60 minutes to adjust their setups in preparation for the sprint qualifying happening later today.

From the get-go, Ferrari appeared to be in a strong position, with Sainz and Charles Leclerc posting impressive lap times on the more durable tires.
As the final 20 minutes approached, Max Verstappen was in the lead, having posted his fast lap on soft tires early on. However, he was surpassed by Sainz, who beat him by a margin of 0.253 seconds.
Sainz managed to maintain his lead over his teammate Leclerc, whose top performance was momentarily hampered by a short-lived Virtual Safety Car phase.
After recording a lap time, Leclerc found himself just 0.021 seconds behind the leading pace.
Ferrari stands out as the sole leading squad that hasn't rolled out any fresh enhancements for the upcoming weekend.
Verstappen finished in third place overall, narrowly outpacing Lando Norris, who veered off track during his top lap at the session's conclusion.
Oscar Piastri, who didn't use McLaren's latest front wing, secured the fifth-fastest time, trailing Sainz by 0.306 seconds.
The Mercedes seemed difficult to control as both Lewis Hamilton and George Russell experienced spins early in the session.
Ultimately, Hamilton finished ahead of Russell, securing sixth place while Russell came in seventh.
Kevin Magnussen secured a notable eighth position in the improved Haas, leading Fernando Alonso and Yuki Tsunoda.
Liam Lawson trailed his teammate by a mere tenth, finishing 13th as he filled in for Daniel Ricciardo in his F1 comeback.
Sergio Perez found himself in 16th position, voicing concerns over the stability of his RB20.
