Pedro Acosta Faces Race Against Time: Ligament Injury Threatens Thailand MotoGP Return
Pedro Acosta injury news: Ligaments strained, optimistic for Thailand appearance
"The best we can offer is our wishes for Pedro's swift healing, with the anticipation of his presence in Thailand the following week."
Due to shoulder injuries sustained from a severe highside during the Sprint, Pedro Acosta will not be participating in Sunday's Australian MotoGP. He must undergo another medical examination before he is allowed to race in this weekend's Buriram event.
Early examinations at the track confirmed there were no fractures, yet the GASGAS Tech3 newcomer continued to experience discomfort on Sunday morning and was deemed unable to compete.

An additional update from Tech3 revealed that the 20-year-old Spanish rider, who secured the pole position in the last Motegi event, is still experiencing pain as a result of 'stretched ligaments'.
Earlier today, Pedro was deemed unfit to participate in the Australian Grand Prix. Subsequently, he visited a hospital in Melbourne for additional tests on his left shoulder. Thankfully, doctors once again confirmed that there is no fracture, which is encouraging news.
When Pedro fell during his sprint, his shoulder hit the ground hard, resulting in stretched ligaments and significant pain. The days leading up to the Thai Grand Prix will give him a chance to recover, and his condition will be assessed again in Buriram.
After failing to score in the last four races, which also include Sprint events, Acosta has fallen 11 points behind his upcoming teammate Brad Binder in the battle for fifth position and the highest-ranking non-Ducati competitor in the world championship.
Tech3 team manager Nicolas Goyon expressed his hopes for Pedro's quick recovery, adding that they are looking forward to his presence in Thailand next week.
The final event of the season for VR46's Fabio di Giannantonio will take place in Buriram, as he needs to undergo surgery on his shoulder due to an injury sustained from a dislocation in Austria.
