Marco Bezzecchi’s Challenging Season: A Road to Redemption with Aprilia in 2025
Marco Bezzecchi has experienced a downturn in his performance, but I'm not giving up on him yet. Bezzecchi's issues stem from losing his confidence and struggling with the Michelin rear tire.
Marco Bezzecchi is expected to come back even more resilient after enduring a tough season.
The VR46 Ducati racer has not experienced the same level of success as in 2023.
In the previous year, Bezzecchi achieved his inaugural victory in a MotoGP grand prix, marking a significant achievement for Valentino Rossi's VR46 team as well.
He competed fiercely for the championship title, but a training injury interrupted his momentum, leading him to ultimately secure third place in the rankings.
This season, Bezzecchi has faced significant challenges in distinguishing between the GP22 and GP23.
Furthermore, Marc Marquez has performed exceptionally well on the same equipment as Bezzecchi, whereas the GP24 Ducatis have enjoyed a distinct edge.
TNT Sports analyst Neil Hodgson described Bez's season as unexpectedly surprising.
"Last season, he secured the third spot globally. Consistently present, he managed to compile an impressive season."
At the beginning of this year, if someone mentioned that Bez would not be among the top 10 this season, you would probably wonder if he was going to get injured.
"There are no injuries involved. The fact is that the advancements made in the 2024 Ducati have rendered them unbeatable."
Bez struggled to find his path and doubted his abilities, never adapting to the Michelin rear tire. Circumstances seemed to continually work against him.
"However, I must emphasize that I'm not dismissing him! I continue to hold Bez in high regard."
"The young individual, known for his exceptional talent, is transferring to Aprilia. Despite his youth, his greatest achievements are anticipated in the future."
A year ago, Bezzecchi turned down an offer to join Pramac Ducati, which would have allowed him access to the newest model. Instead, he chose to stay with VR46.
However, he has committed to joining Aprilia in 2025, advancing to a position as a factory team rider.
Next year, Bezzecchi is set to join forces with Jorge Martin at Aprilia.
