Lewis Hamilton Anticipates Mercedes Resurgence with Strategic Upgrades at F1 US Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton suggests that Mercedes is hopeful about their improvements for the F1 US Grand Prix, saying, "We’ve been slightly off track and have essentially lost our direction."

They are aiming to stop a decline in performance for Hamilton and his teammate George Russell.
In an interview with Motorsport Week, Hamilton mentioned that Mercedes is usually active, which has given them ample opportunity to assess the mistakes they have made.
"However, we've been somewhat out of sync with the others."
"Our competitors have updated their systems when we haven't, so we're introducing an upgrade now, for instance."
"There might be individuals who bring minor components here, but it's possible that not everyone will experience the same advancements we have."
"Some teams introduced updates at Zandvoort and Monza, particularly for Ferrari, while we've been slightly out of step and ended up losing our direction regarding set-up."
"Attempting to extract the maximum potential from this car that's gradually falling apart on the ground, for instance."
"I believe we recognize our missteps, or perhaps not outright mistakes, but areas where we have deviated from our intended path. I am optimistic that we can begin to restore a better equilibrium this weekend."
Mercedes decided to go back to using their floor design from before the Spa event because the newer version did not deliver the expected outcomes.
Earlier this year, the streak of not winning, which had persisted since Red Bull rose to the top in Formula 1, was broken when Russell claimed victory at the Austrian Grand Prix.
During that successful stretch, Russell and Hamilton secured victories in three of the four grand prix races.
Some people have even suggested that Hamilton may have rushed his decision to leave the successful Mercedes team for Ferrari in 2025.
However, Mercedes' strong performance has gradually declined.
An upgraded version of the W15 racing car in Texas this weekend might help Hamilton and Russell secure spots on the podium.
