In 2025, Castrol will no longer serve as a primary sponsor.
The UK-based lubricant firm, Castrol, currently collaborates with the LCR Honda MotoGP team. This partnership is set to continue until 2025.
At the conclusion of this season, Honda will no longer have Repsol, the Spanish petroleum firm, as their primary sponsor.
This marks the conclusion of a three-decade-long collaboration and signifies the closure of an extraordinarily successful era.
Repsol and Honda were closely associated with the manufacturer's most successful periods in MotoGP, especially during Marc Marquez's championship wins.
Repsol and Honda collectively secured 15 championships for riders.
However, when Marquez left Honda twelve months prior, Repsol's dedication to funding the manufacturer diminished.
This season, the MotoGP team has less Repsol branding on their motorcycles.
The breakup was officially acknowledged a while ago, yet bringing Castrol into the fold in 2025 marks a significant shift for Honda's factory team.
Joan Mir and Luca Marini will continue as their riders in the upcoming season.
The project, facing challenges, will receive assistance with the arrival of Romano Albesiano as the new technical director and Aleix Espargaro joining as a test rider.
