Haas Gears Up for US GP with Major Upgrade and Special Livery in Pursuit of P6 in Constructors’ Championship
Haas introduces significant update and unique paint scheme at the US Grand Prix in pursuit of sixth place
Haas aims for an advancement to propel them past midfield competitor RB for the sixth spot in the F1 team standings.
Haas is set to introduce a major update later in the 2024 Formula 1 season, aiming to secure the sixth spot in the constructors' standings.
The updated components, including a new floor and bodywork design, will be introduced on the VF-24 during this weekend's Grand Prix in the United States, marking the team's significant upgrade for the season's closing stages.
Haas is set to sport a unique paint scheme for their local race at the Circuit of the Americas, featuring the emblems of their latest technical ally, Toyota.
"In Austin, we're introducing our most significant update for the season's last stretch, focusing primarily on further developments in the floor and bodywork," explained Andrea De Zordo, the technical director at Haas.
"The objective remains to enhance the aerodynamic load to increase the car's speed. Achieving a significant reduction in lap times is challenging, hence we are focusing on minor improvements. However, in the closely contested midfield battle, every little advancement is crucial, and we aim to achieve this."
"This represents an advancement and continued progression of our offering, rather than a completely new concept, despite the car's slightly altered appearance."
Haas presently occupies the seventh position in the constructors' championship rankings, trailing RB by a mere three points, with six Grand Prix events and three sprint races left in this season.
A trio of successive point-scoring finishes has aided the US team in narrowing the distance to Red Bull's affiliate squad as they approach the end phase of the season.
"De Zordo mentioned, 'Although we didn't manage to earn any points last year, it was still a respectable race for us, and I believe it will be another favorable race for us this time around.'"
"We're striving for sixth place, and it's truly encouraging. We have to give our all to reach that goal, as it would be a tremendous accomplishment for everyone on the team who has dedicated so much effort to ensure this season's success."
