Valentino Rossi has been informed that criticizing Marc Marquez is not beneficial.

Dorna Chief Executive Carmelo Ezpeleta has stepped into the controversy arising from Rossi's latest outburst directed at Marquez.

In a podcast interview, Rossi reignited the controversy from 2015, maintaining his position that Marquez deliberately sabotaged his championship chances nine years ago.

"Ezpeleta mentioned to AS, 'I'm not sure, but it might be best to just leave it alone.'"

"Quite some time has passed since then. Those events took place several years back."

I found it appropriate that Marc refrained from remarking on his own assertions.

"Clearly, it's not my place to dictate Valentino's actions, but I believe stating that at this moment doesn't really contribute positively."

"I haven't discussed that matter with Valentino, but I hold him in high esteem and am deeply thankful for his contributions to our sport."

"It's probably not essential for me to mention this, however, if he feels that way, he should express it himself."

When questioned about Rossi's critical remarks, Marquez declined to engage.

This season, Marquez has reemerged as a championship contender after transitioning from Honda to Ducati.

His exceptional displays have garnered him an upgrade from Gresini to the official team in 2025.

He secured his initial victories at major races riding Ducati bikes, a triumph that, according to Ezpeleta, enhances the overall MotoGP experience.

"Ezpeleta noted that while the previous year was enjoyable, it's certainly beneficial to have a greater number of competitors."
