Brembo strikes a deal to acquire Ohlins Racing
Brembo has struck a deal to acquire Ohlins Racing.
Brembo, an Italian brakes manufacturer, has acquired Ohlins, as announced by the Italian firm.
Brembo announced that it has finalized a deal to fully acquire Ohlins Racing, with the transaction valued at $405 million (£310 million), as per a recent press release from the brakes maker.
The statement from Ohlins announces a partnership that symbolizes the union of two legendary brands, promising unparalleled performance, distinctive style, and a rich legacy of triumphs in various racing disciplines, including Formula One, MotoGP, NASCAR, and downhill mountain bike racing.
In the MotoGP World Championship, Ohlins and Brembo stand out as key suppliers, where Ohlins provides suspension systems to four out of the five major manufacturers including Ducati, Aprilia, Honda, and Yamaha. Meanwhile, Brembo delivers brake systems to all five.
KTM stands out when it comes to suspension choices, opting for WP – a company under its ownership – to manufacture the suspension for the RC16.
