Vice President Kamala Harris Reveals Her Love for F1 and Support for Lewis Hamilton Amid Presidential Campaign
Kamala Harris expresses her passion for Formula 1, showing support for Lewis Hamilton
"It's fantastic. We're all fans in our family."
U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has disclosed her enthusiasm for Formula 1 racing, singling out Lewis Hamilton as her preferred competitor.
Next month, Harris will be competing directly with Donald Trump as the polls open for the United States presidential election.
In July, she took over as the Democratic Party nominee from Joe Biden.
During her campaign journey leading up to election day, Harris featured on the Howard Stern show.
In the conversation, Harris shared her passion for F1, mentioning that it's a sentiment her entire family shares.
Discussing Formula 1, she mentioned, "It's fantastic. Our entire family is a fan."
Given her dedication to her presidential campaign, Harris has understandably had little opportunity to follow any of the recent races.
An additional hurdle for American audiences is the difference in time zones, which results in numerous races occurring at dawn.
Harris clarified, "Absolutely not. No. In fact, my campaign commitments have kept me too busy to catch up on it. Moreover, it really depends on their driving route and what time it is, because you've got to consider when you need to wake up…"
When questioned about her preferred driver, she answered, "Obviously, Lewis Hamilton. He's departing from Mercedes."
Ultimately, she suggested that the interviewer give F1 a chance, hinting that they could become captivated.
"Once you begin…you should witness it, there's a chance you'll become addicted," Harris finished.
