Toyota’s Comeback: Japanese Giant Joins Forces with Haas in Groundbreaking F1 Partnership
Toyota is set to make a comeback to Formula 1, as it has been announced that the company will be partnering with Haas on technical aspects. This development marks a thrilling new collaboration
Toyota has entered into a technical collaboration with the Haas Formula 1 team, signifying their reentry into the sport after being absent since 2009.
The partnership between the Japanese manufacturer and Haas was revealed on Friday morning.
Under a long-term agreement, Haas and Toyota will exchange skills, insights, and resources.
The agreement does not affect Haas' current collaboration with Ferrari.
This marks a significant advancement for Haas, as they plan to rely on Toyota for design, technical, and manufacturing support to enhance their successful performance from the 2024 season.
Discussing recent developments, Ayao Komatsu, the head of Haas, expressed great enthusiasm about the new technical collaboration between MoneyGram Haas F1 Team and Toyota Gazoo Racing.
Having a global leader in the car industry collaborate with and support our organization, all while aiming to enhance and speed up their technical and engineering skills, represents a partnership that clearly offers advantages for both parties.
"Accessing the resources and expertise offered by Toyota Gazoo Racing, along with leveraging their technical and production methods, will play a crucial role in advancing our development and enhancing our competitiveness in Formula 1."
"We provide a platform that allows Toyota Gazoo Racing to make full use of and further develop their internal engineering skills."
"I am delighted to have received backing from organizations such as Formula 1 and our enduring collaborator, Scuderia Ferrari. Earlier this season, we revealed the extension of our relationship, which involves establishing this innovative technical collaboration."
In collaboration with Gene Haas, I want to express my gratitude to Stefano Domenicali, the CEO of Formula 1, and Fred Vasseur, the Team Principal of Scuderia Ferrari, for their support in this area. Additionally, I wish to thank Akio Toyoda, the Chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation, along with Tomoya Takahashi, the President of Gazoo Racing Company, and Masaya Kaji, the Project Manager at Gazoo Racing Company, for their contributions.
The team at MoneyGram Haas F1 is eager to see the outcomes of this partnership and is excited to begin working together to achieve our shared goals.
This weekend, the Haas vehicles will feature Toyota logos during the United States Grand Prix.
