Toyota Makes High-Octane Return to F1 with Haas Technical Partnership
Toyota's comeback to Formula 1 has been officially declared, alongside a technical alliance with Haas.
This represents a thrilling agreement for both Haas and Toyota.
Toyota has entered into a technical collaboration with the Haas F1 team, signifying their comeback to the sport after an absence since 2009.
On Friday morning, it was revealed that the manufacturer from Japan had entered into a partnership with Haas.
Under a long-term deal, Haas and Toyota will exchange skills, insights, and assets.
The agreement does not affect Haas' current collaboration with Ferrari.
Haas is taking a significant leap forward by partnering with Toyota to gain access to their design, technical, and manufacturing expertise, aiming to enhance their impressive performance in the 2024 season.
Discussing recent developments, Haas team leader Ayao Komatsu expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "I'm incredibly thrilled about the collaboration between MoneyGram Haas F1 Team and Toyota Gazoo Racing through this technical alliance."
"Having a global frontrunner in the car industry collaborate and assist our group, as they aim to enhance and fast-track their technical and engineering skills, clearly presents a mutually advantageous alliance."
Accessing Toyota Gazoo Racing's vast resources and expertise, along with taking advantage of their technical and production methodologies, will play a crucial role in our development and our strong ambition to enhance our performance in Formula 1.
"We provide a stage for Toyota Gazoo Racing to fully harness and further develop their internal engineering skills in exchange."
"I'm genuinely delighted by the backing we've received from entities such as Formula 1 and our enduring ally, Scuderia Ferrari – with whom we disclosed an extension of our partnership earlier this season, in establishing this fresh technical collaboration –
In collaboration with Gene Haas, we extend our gratitude towards Stefano Domenicali, the CEO of Formula 1, and Fred Vasseur, the Team Principal at Scuderia Ferrari, for their support. Additionally, in our partnership with Toyota, we would like to express our appreciation to Akio Toyoda, the Chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation, Tomoya Takahashi, the President of Gazoo Racing Company, and Masaya Kaji, the Project Manager at Gazoo Racing Company.
"Everyone affiliated with MoneyGram Haas F1 Team is eager to see the outcomes of this fresh partnership. We're excited to begin and achieve our shared goals together."
This weekend's United States Grand Prix will feature Haas cars sporting Toyota logos.
