Schumacher and Vettel to Team Up for Germany at 2025 Race of Champions in Sydney
Mick Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel to Join Forces at the 2025 Race of Champions
The duo of Mick Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel is slated to come together for the 2025 edition of the Race of Champions.
Mick Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel will team up once more for the upcoming Race of Champions event scheduled for next year.
Schumacher and Vettel are set to compete for Germany in the ROC Nations Cup.
Germany holds the record for the most wins in the history of the Race of Champions, securing eight victories throughout the event's timeline.
Between 2007 and 2012, Vettel and Michael Schumacher remained undefeated at the Race of Champions (ROC).
In 2017, the ex-Aston Martin racer secured a victory together with Pascal Wehrlein.
Regarding their present involvement in motorsport, Schumacher competes for Alpine in the World Endurance Championship (WEC).
Meanwhile, Vettel has been savoring his time off, far from the racing circuits.
The 2025 Race of Champions event is scheduled to occur in Sydney from March 7th to March 8th
Discussing the news, Schumacher expressed, "Australia holds a special place in my heart, and having the opportunity to represent Germany alongside Sebastian at the Race of Champions in Sydney is definitely going to be an enjoyable experience."
"Having secured a runner-up position in the individual Race Of Champions (ROC) in Sweden in 2023 and in the ROC Nations Cup in Mexico alongside Seb, the ambition is now set on clinching the top prize in both the ROC Nations Cup on Friday and the solo Race Of Champions event on Saturday."
"I'm really excited about getting to know the other competitors and hanging out with them throughout the Race Of Champions weekend in Sydney. I'm confident that we'll all have an amazing time together and deliver a fantastic performance for the fans in Australia."
Vettel expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “I’m thrilled to return to the Race Of Champions and to join forces with Mick once more. It’s going to be thrilling to compete in the ex-Olympic Stadium in Sydney, which appears to be an outstanding location for the Race Of Champions. Sydney is among the world’s most stunning cities, and I believe Fredrik [Johnsson] and his team have chosen a fantastic place for the upcoming installment of ROC.
"I also back the initiatives undertaken by ROC towards evolving into an eco-friendly motorsport event, beginning with their activities in ROC Sweden."
Every participant who gets the privilege to compete in the Race of Champions (ROC) becomes enamored with it, as it brings us back to our initial reasons for racing—sheer rivalry. Moreover, since everyone races in the same vehicles, there's no room for excuses.
"I'm committed to assisting Germany in clinching another ROC Nations Cup Championship alongside Mick on Friday night. However, when it comes to competing for the ultimate victory on Saturday night, I won't be giving him any advantages, particularly since he outperformed me in the Semifinals of the Individual ROC in Sweden in 2023!
"At ROC, the competition on the circuit is consistently fierce, with every participant eager to emerge victorious. However, it's equally focused on delivering an outstanding performance for the audience."
