A minister has stated that the government is implementing new guidelines on donations due to the public holding Labour to a much higher standard compared to the Conservatives.
Science Secretary Peter Kyle maintained that no regulations were violated, despite the ongoing controversy surrounding the allegations of freebies that have embroiled Sir Keir Starmer's administration.
He explained on Sunday Morning with Trevor Phillips that the government's introduction of new policies, as declared by the prime minister last week, was an effort to align with what the public expects from the administration.
"He mentioned that the former leadership and administration in our country were notorious for disregarding and violating the established norms and standards."

"Our goal is to align with the anticipated standards, which are significantly elevated for this Labour government compared to the previous administration, and rightfully so."
When questioned about whether the government was actually striving to fulfill the standards he had established while criticizing the Conservatives as an opposition member, Mr. Kyle attempted to differentiate his position by pointing out that the Conservatives had violated regulations by failing to disclose certain donations.

Despite all presents being disclosed, rival parties have criticized Labour for being hypocritical since they promised to "reform politics" upon gaining power.
In conjunction with the introduction of new guidelines, the prime minister also acknowledged that he has reimbursed over £6,000 in gifts and hospitality he has accepted since assuming office. This repayment covers expenses such as six tickets to a Taylor Swift concert, four tickets to horse racing events, and a lease for designer clothing preferred by his spouse, Lady Victoria Starmer.
