Marc Marquez Embraces Ducati GP23 Without Demanding More, Aims for Peak Performance Amid 2024 Powerhouses
Marc Marquez is "not seeking any additional features" from the Ducati setup
"Marc is aware of his options and isn't requesting anything beyond that"
Ducati asserts that Marc Marquez has not requested any changes for his GP23 model.
Throughout the season, the prowess of Ducati's 2024 motorcycle has been showcased, especially by championship hopefuls Jorge Martin and Pecco Bagnaia.
This implied that the revitalized brilliance of Marquez was limited by using a machine that was a year old.
However, Davide Tardozzi quickly clarified that Marquez has not sought extra help from Ducati.
"This season, he has the liberty to deliver his top performance on the circuit," Ducati's team manager Tardozzi shared with TNT Sports.
Every technical possibility is included in the agreement. Marc is aware of his options and does not request anything beyond that.
"Marc is demonstrating his skills as an expert cyclist. He understands his capabilities and is maximizing his resources. He isn't seeking anything beyond what he currently has."
During last weekend's race at Mandalika, Marquez's GP23 motorcycle caught fire, forcing him out of the Indonesian MotoGP where he was contending for a top-three finish.
He is currently trailing Pramac's Martin, the frontrunner in the championship, by 78 points as they head into this weekend's Japanese MotoGP at Motegi.
His displays have sufficiently impressed to secure a spot in the 2025 factory Ducati team, where he will team up with Bagnaia.
"Tardozzi expressed confidence, stating, 'We believe, we're optimistic, we're certain it's going to be positive.'"
"Gigi, Mauro, myself, along with the engineers, are dedicated to maintaining the team's atmosphere as it has been over the previous years.
"We are confident that all will turn out well."
During a session at Mandalika, Gigi Dall’Igna was seen chuckling when Marquez offered Bagnaia a ride back to the pit lane after the MotoGP titleholder found himself without fuel.
It's yet to be determined if their relationship will stay as peaceful once the title is on the line.
"For the upcoming season, we've secured two smart individuals. They're not just speedy; they bring a level of intelligence to the table as well," Tardozzi remarked.
"They understand that collaboration will enable them to create an exceptional 2025 bicycle model."
"Ultimately, it's the race course that will reveal who has the greater speed. Nonetheless, both competitors will exhibit remarkable velocity."
