Liam Lawson Shines in Red Bull’s Pirelli Tyre Test at Mugello: A Glimpse into F1’s Future Talent
Liam Lawson has a chance to showcase his skills to Red Bull during the Pirelli Formula 1 tire testing. On Tuesday, Lawson participated in the testing session held at Mugello for Red Bull.
Liam Lawson participated in a Pirelli tire test for Red Bull in preparation for the United States Grand Prix taking place next weekend.
Lawson is set to return to Formula 1 as a full-time driver at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA), stepping in for Daniel Ricciardo, and took the Red Bull car for a spin.
At the Mugello circuit, four drivers participated in activities for Pirelli, including Lando Norris who represented McLaren.
Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc were both involved in on-track activities representing Ferrari.
Both Red Bull and Ferrari concentrated on helping Pirelli with the creation of their tires for 2025.
Conversely, McLaren tested a development vehicle equipped with prototype tires designed for the 2026 season.
The track was damp at first, leading drivers to opt for intermediate tires.
By 11 in the morning, the teams managed to drive on slick tires, finishing the schedule planned by Pirelli.
Norris recorded the fastest lap with a time of 1 minute and 21.302 seconds, completing a total of 118 laps.
Lawson finished 116 laps, achieving a time of 1 minute and 23.219 seconds during the session.
Leclerc completed a lap in 1 minute and 21.053 seconds, having covered 79 laps in total. Meanwhile, Sainz managed to go around the track 77 times, recording his fastest lap at 1 minute and 21.890 seconds.
