Last-Minute Copyright Concerns Prompt Pirelli to Alter F1 US GP Trophy Design
The reason behind the sudden redesign of the F1 US Grand Prix trophy has been clarified.
Pirelli modified its intended awards for the F1 United States Grand Prix following unforeseen copyright issues at the eleventh hour.
F1's tire supplier commissioned a unique 'Heroo' pattern by artist and designer Matteo Macchiavelli for the United States Grand Prix. However, these tires were not showcased during the post-race podium ceremony.

Instead of the usual awards, Charles Leclerc, who won the race, was presented with a classic trophy, whereas his Ferrari colleague, Carlos Sainz, and Max Verstappen from Red Bull were given Pirelli tire trophies for securing the second and third places, respectively.
Pirelli revealed to Motorsport following Sunday's grand prix that it, along with the race organizer, opted to forgo the trophy upon recognizing it might bear resemblance to existing designs.
The initial announcement regarding the unique trophy design was also removed from the website of the Italian tire manufacturer.
Plans were in place to release special edition copies of the ‘Heroo’ trophy for enthusiasts and supporters, but it remains uncertain if this will proceed as intended.
The award closely mirrors the design and aesthetic of collectibles and sculptures produced by Bearbrick, a well-known brand specializing in designer figures.
