Hamilton's display drew the notice of presenter and ex-Top Gear star Clarkson, who commended Red Bull's Max Verstappen for his remarkable comeback win after starting from 17th position.
Clarkson took a jab at Lance Stroll from Aston Martin after he had an accident during the formation lap.

According to reports, General Motors is set to pay an anti-dilution fee of $450 million (£358 million) to enter the Formula 1 circuit in 2026.
According to BBC Sport, "senior sources in F1" have disclosed that GM and the American company TWG Global will invest a significant amount to ensure their participation.

The announced amount is over twice the existing $200 million anti-dilution fee specified in Formula 1's current regulations.
Formula 1 teams are advocating for a significant rise in the fee that any new team would be required to pay under the upcoming Concorde Agreement, which is set to be finalized for the period starting in 2026.
The purpose of the anti-dilution fee is to provide compensation to the existing teams when a new participant enters the lineup and reduces the amount of prize money distributed.
Approximately 63% of Formula 1's revenue is distributed among the teams. However, with General Motors joining the competition through its Cadillac brand, this amount will now be divided among 11 teams instead of the previous 10.
On Monday, Formula 1 revealed that a preliminary deal has been made for General Motors to join the racing series in 2026.
Greg Maffei, the departing president and CEO of Liberty Media, which holds the commercial rights to Formula 1, expressed that integrating a prominent American brand such as GM/Cadillac into the F1 lineup and having GM as a potential future supplier of power units could enhance the sport's appeal and value, particularly as F1 continues to expand its presence in the United States.
"We acknowledge the substantial advancements made by General Motors and their collaborators in preparing to join Formula 1, thanks to their leadership."

This comes as part of an effort led by the FIA and its president, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, to increase the number of teams in Formula 1.

Andretti remarked that the Cadillac F1 Team consists of a dedicated and hardworking group who have put in significant effort to establish an American factory team. These were his initial remarks following the confirmation of the agreement.

Cadillac, supported by General Motors, has reached a preliminary agreement with F1 and the FIA to enter the competition in 2026.
Andretti expressed his thoughts for the first time since the agreement was finalized, stating that the Cadillac F1 Team consists of a dedicated and hardworking team of individuals who have put in significant effort to create an American factory team.
"I am extremely proud of their dedication and effort and want to commend everyone for reaching this significant milestone. I will be supporting you all the way!"
The 11th Formula 1 team won't be carrying the Andretti name.
Michael Andretti had made earlier efforts to bring Andretti Global into Formula 1. While the FIA gave their approval, the current 10 F1 teams did not. However, there was still an opportunity for General Motors to join.
In September, Andretti resigned from his position as a leader.
Dan Towriss is set to take over leadership as a tentative agreement has been reached, which includes the involvement of Cadillac and General Motors branding.
In the upcoming F1 venture, the sole connection to the Andretti family is through Mario Andretti, the former F1 champion and Michael's well-known father, who will serve on the board of directors.
The new team is scheduled to enter the competition in 2026, marking the inaugural year for the updated regulations.
Their goal is to develop their own engines and transform into a complete works team before the decade concludes.
The supplier of their engines for their debut season in Formula 1 has not yet been announced.

Cadillac, supported by General Motors, has reached a preliminary agreement with Formula 1 and the FIA to enter the racing circuit in 2026.
Andretti stated for the first time since the agreement was finalized that the Cadillac F1 Team consists of a dedicated team of individuals who have put in relentless effort to establish an American factory team.
"I am extremely proud of their dedication and effort and extend my congratulations to everyone who contributed to reaching this significant milestone. I will be supporting you enthusiastically!"

Starting from pole position, Russell maintained the lead for most of the race, with the exception of a short period when he made a pit stop, allowing Hamilton to move to the front.
Hamilton attributed his inability to win the grand prix to his disappointing performance in the qualifying session, which resulted in him starting in 10th place.
In his piece for Sky Sports, Brundle noted, "George delivered a confident showing, proving himself to be a key figure in steering the team forward."
Lewis Hamilton, driving the other Mercedes, displayed similar speed, although he occasionally veered off onto the escape routes.
Unfortunately for him, he experienced two disappointing laps during the final qualifying session, as the rear of his car lost grip, resulting in him securing a modest 10th place start.

Despite the tough competition, Lewis delivered an impressive performance, skillfully maneuvering past strong rivals to secure second place, ultimately crossing the finish line only seven seconds behind the leader.

Russell's showing in Las Vegas is likely to boost Mercedes' confidence that he can take over as their lead driver from Hamilton in 2025.

A release from Formula 1 indicated: "Today, Formula 1 revealed that it has provisionally agreed with General Motors (GM) to assist in introducing GM/Cadillac as the eleventh team to the Formula 1 lineup in 2026."
Greg Maffei, who serves as the President and CEO of Liberty Media, expressed that the ongoing expansion of Formula 1 in the United States has always made them think that including a notable American brand like GM/Cadillac in the lineup, along with GM potentially providing power units in the future, could enhance the sport's appeal and value.
We acknowledge the substantial advancements made by General Motors and their collaborators as they prepare to join Formula 1.
"The GM/Cadillac team is thrilled to advance with their application to join the Championship in 2026."
Stefano Domenicali, who serves as the President and CEO of Formula 1, expressed that the dedication of General Motors and Cadillac to this initiative is a significant and encouraging sign of how the sport is progressing.
"We are eager to witness the development and advancement of this project, confident that all parties will fully cooperate and provide their support."
The head of the FIA, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, expressed his support, stating: "General Motors is an influential international brand and a major player among original equipment manufacturers, collaborating with notable partners. I completely back the initiatives taken by the FIA, Formula 1, GM, and the team to continue discussions and strive for a preliminary agreement to advance this proposal, aiming to introduce a GM/Cadillac branded team to the starting lineup of the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship."
Every group involved, including the FIA, will keep collaborating to make sure the process moves forward without any issues.
Mark Reuss, the President of General Motors, expressed that Formula 1 represents the highest level of motorsport, requiring cutting-edge innovation and superior performance. He stated that General Motors and Cadillac are proud to be part of this leading racing series and are dedicated to participating with enthusiasm and honesty to enhance the experience for racing enthusiasts globally.
