Huawei’s Ascend 910C AI Chip: A Leap Forward Amidst Nvidia Alternatives Search by Chinese Firms
Huawei's AI processors progress further as Chinese companies seek alternatives to Nvidia. Huawei is distributing its Ascend 910C processor samples for evaluation as it tries to fill the gap created by Nvidia's absence.
Huawei has reportedly provided examples of its Ascend 910C processor to big Chinese server firms for them to test and configure its hardware, as per information received from two insiders. The processor, a more advanced variant of the 910B, is being given to significant Chinese internet companies, that are also key customers of Nvidia, as shared by one of these insiders, a distributor of Huawei's AI chips.
Huawei didn't promptly reply to a comment request on Friday.

The progress in chip development by the Chinese tech behemoth, Huawei, has been kept under wraps. However, it's evident that Huawei is establishing a backing structure for the local AI sector. Eric Xu Zhijun, the rotating chairman of Huawei, stated last week that over the last five years, Huawei has developed two computing enterprises to provide an alternative that can fulfill the AI infrastructure requirements of businesses.
