Hamilton’s Historic Ferrari Debut Deferred: Awaiting 2025 for Maiden Maranello Outing
No possibility exists for Lewis Hamilton to debut with Ferrari during the Abu Dhabi F1 test after the season concludes.
It appears that Lewis Hamilton will be postponing his debut in Ferrari red until 2025.
Experienced BBC reporter Andrew Benson firmly believes that there is absolutely no possibility of Hamilton participating in the post-season Ferrari test after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
In a Q&A with BBC Sport, Benson mentioned: "None. Hamilton has a binding contract with Mercedes until the year's end, and the team has stated he's not allowed to trial with Ferrari post-season due to extensive promotional and parting activities planned after a 12-year partnership – and 18 years with Mercedes engines."
Should Hamilton have been given the opportunity to race with Ferrari for the first time, it would have marked a significant event.
Fernando Alonso's initial appearance with Aston Martin, driving a car without any sponsor branding in green, garnered significant curiosity and focus.
Hamilton's move to Ferrari captured global sports headlines, marking a moment of historical significance.
Chances are slim that Hamilton will sport Ferrari's iconic red until a potential opportunity in 2025 to pilot a vintage model at Fiorano, the team's own circuit.
Hamilton is set to leave Mercedes following a 12-year stint.
The seven-time world champion secured victories in all of his 103 races using Mercedes engines, tracing back to his tenure at McLaren from 2007 to 2012.
Hamilton has claimed six out of his seven championship titles while racing for Mercedes, becoming a dominant force in the sport over several years.
Despite a lack of victories since early 2022, Hamilton secured a memorable victory at this year's British Grand Prix, triumphing in front of his home crowd.
Hamilton secured another win at Spa-Francorchamps, claiming victory following the disqualification of George Russell.
