Guenther Steiner challenges the driver selection made by Haas

Guenther Steiner states that Haas is making an incorrect pivotal decision regarding their driver lineup.

The ex-team leader asserts that Ollie Bearman should take over Kevin Magnussen's position without delay.

Haas has announced that Bearman is set to take over from Magnussen for the 2025 Formula 1 season, although Steiner is eager for the change to happen sooner.

During an interview on the Red Flags podcast, Steiner explained the reason, stating, "Williams is currently the most prominent example."

Williams replaced the underperforming Logan Sargeant with Franco Colapinto, who has since delivered impressive performances for the team.

Steiner quipped, saying, "First, there's the legendary Alex Albon, hailed as the most gifted driver since Michael Schumacher, followed by someone whose name leaves everyone puzzled on how to say it."

"What's going on with this person? I have a lot of respect for Alex; he's a skilled driver."

Kevin Magnussen had to exit the F1 Singapore Grand Prix prematurely because of a tire puncture.

Earlier, he had been suspended for one race due to the buildup of penalty points.

Haas has significantly improved since last season, when they ended up at the bottom of the constructors’ championship under the leadership of Steiner.

With Ayao Komatsu at the helm, the team is currently in seventh place, primarily due to the performances of Nico Hulkenberg.

Next year, Hulkenberg is set to join Sauber, while Haas has brought in Esteban Ocon from Alpine.
