The parliamentary body has issued a firm denunciation of any attempts to meddle in Moldova's presidential elections and the referendum concerning EU integration, declared President Metsola. She expressed pride in the Parliament's role as a steadfast ally and supporter of Moldova, fully endorsing its journey toward joining the EU. Metsola praised President Maia Sandu and her administration for their significant strides in executing reforms. Acknowledging potential challenges on the horizon, she assured that the European Parliament remains committed to supporting Moldova throughout its journey.

Seven years have passed since the tragic murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia.

On October 16, it was seven years since the tragic killing of Daphne Caruana Galizia, an investigative journalist from Malta known for uncovering corruption and organized crime. President Metsola stated that those who believed they could quiet her voice were mistaken. Her efforts ignited a movement that resonates everywhere as we strive for a Europe committed to safeguarding journalists and upholding the rule of law.

To commemorate her legacy, Parliament will hold the award ceremony for the fourth annual Daphne Caruana Galizia Prize for exceptional journalism on Wednesday, recognizing the courage of those who persist in upholding her work.
