Ducati’s High-Stakes Gamble: What Marc Marquez’s Arrival Means for the Factory Team in 2025
How Ducati anticipates Marc Marquez's impact on its factory MotoGP squad in 2025
What does Ducati foresee Marquez contributing in the coming year?
Davide Tardozzi, the manager of the Ducati team, is confident that Marc Marquez will significantly elevate the team's performance when he becomes part of the factory MotoGP lineup in 2025.
The announcement of Marquez joining the official Ducati team next year was the most shocking development in the 2025 rider market, especially since the eight-time world champion turned down a factory ride with Pramac.
With the risk of Marquez potentially joining a competitor, as he received an offer from KTM, Ducati reversed its choice to advance Jorge Martin.
Due to these circumstances, the runner-up of the 2023 championship and the present leader in points had to agree to a contract with Aprilia. Meanwhile, Pramac is set to collaborate with Yamaha starting in 2025.
After securing three victories on the Gresini-operated GP23 this year, it's clear that Marquez will be a strong contender in 2025 as a factory team rider.

Tardozzi is of the opinion that Marquez will elevate the performance of Ducati's official team and enhance the competitiveness of current world champion Francesco Bagnaia.
Last month, Tardozzi mentioned to the MotoGP world broadcast that he believes Marc will elevate the team's performance significantly.
Having friendly competition within a team means that teammates need to work together during practice sessions. However, once they're on the track, it's each rider's responsibility to prove who excels or has the potential to win.
"We will not halt anyone based on their performance, just as we are currently not doing."
"However, I believe Marc will maintain the team's high standards and also assist Pecco in staying highly competitive."
This year, Ducati is assured of securing the riders' championship, as four of its competitors remain mathematically eligible for the title.
With Marquez trailing by 81 points and Enea Bastianini 79 points behind Martin, the championship contest has narrowed down to just Bagnaia and Martin.
As the upcoming Australian Grand Prix approaches, only a 10-point difference separates Bagnaia and Martin. On Thursday, it was announced that Ducati has halted the development of its GP24 to maintain fair competition.
