Ducati’s High-Stakes Gamble: What Marc Marquez’s Arrival Means for the Factory MotoGP Team in 2025
What Ducati anticipates Marc Marquez will contribute to their factory MotoGP team in 2025.
What are Ducati's expectations for Marquez in the upcoming year?
According to Ducati team manager Davide Tardozzi, Marc Marquez is expected to significantly elevate the team's performance when he becomes part of the factory MotoGP lineup in 2025.
The biggest surprise in the 2025 rider market was Marquez's move to the official Ducati team for next year, as the eight-time world champion decided to turn down a factory ride with Pramac.
Amid concerns that Marquez might join a competing manufacturer, as he received an offer from KTM, Ducati reversed its previous plan to advance Jorge Martin.
As a result, the runner-up of the 2023 championship, who is also leading in points currently, has agreed to a deal with Aprilia. Meanwhile, Pramac is set to collaborate with Yamaha starting in 2025
With three victories on the Gresini-run GP23 this season, Marquez is expected to be a strong contender as a factory rider in 2025.

Tardozzi is of the opinion that Marquez will enhance the performance of Ducati's main team and also boost the competitive spirit of current world champion Francesco Bagnaia.
Last month, Tardozzi mentioned to the MotoGP world feed that he believes Marc will significantly elevate the team's performance.
In a team, friendly competition is beneficial as it encourages riders to work together during practice sessions. However, once they hit the track, it's their individual performance that will determine who stands out or secures victory.
"We will not prevent anyone from performing based on their current performance, just as we aren't doing at present."
"However, I believe Marc will maintain the team's high standards and will also assist Pecco in staying highly competitive."
Ducati is set to secure the riders' championship this year, as four of its competitors still have a mathematical chance to claim the title.
With Marquez trailing by 81 points and Enea Bastianini 79 points behind Martin, the championship contest has narrowed down to a duel between Bagnaia and Martin.
With only a 10-point difference between Bagnaia and Martin as they approach the Australian Grand Prix next weekend, reports from Thursday indicate that Ducati has halted the development of its GP24 to maintain fair competition.
