The announcement was released by the Chinese foreign ministry through a statement on its website on Saturday evening.
The department conveyed the information in a Q&A style, indicating that it was in reply to inquiries from the press.
"President Joe Biden recently extended his congratulations to President Xi Jinping to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic of China," according to the official statement in English.
"In his communication, President Biden expressed, 'on behalf of the United States populace, I extend our heartfelt congratulations to you and the citizens of the People’s Republic of China on the occasion of your 75th founding anniversary. Both the American public and I send our best regards to the people of the People’s Republic of China.'”
The announcement did not clarify the exact timing or the method of delivery of the message.
