Beijing’s Call to Collaboration: Alibaba Opens Its Digital Gates to JD.com’s Logistics Services
Alibaba grants access to its closed network to compete with JD.com's delivery services. In response to Beijing's directive, China's technology powerhouses have been dismantling the virtual barriers that separate their platforms.
JD Logistics, the logistics division of JD.com, announced on Wednesday that its suite of services, including warehousing and shipping, will now be accessible to vendors on Taobao and Tmall. These two platforms are considered the biggest online marketplaces in China.
Clients are then given the option to select JD as their desired delivery or return service, and they can monitor their parcels straight from Taobao or Tmall. The South China Morning Post is a property of Alibaba.
