Francesco Bagnaia capitalized on an error made by Pedro Acosta, the leader of the race, to clinch victory in the Japanese MotoGP Sprint event held on Saturday at Motegi.
Rookie Acosta began the race in pole position but was initially overtaken by Bagnaia and his Ducati teammate Enea Bastianini. However, by the third lap of the 12-lap race, Acosta had regained the lead.
