Vivo Dethrones Xiaomi and Samsung to Emerge as India’s Top Smartphone Brand in Q3 2021: Canalys Report
Vivo has emerged as India's leading smartphone brand in the third quarter, surpassing Xiaomi and Samsung. The company has managed to distribute 9.1 million units in India, a crucial market for Chinese smartphone manufacturers, securing 19 per cent of the market share.
According to a Canalys report released on Friday, Vivo delivered 9.1 million units in India during the quarter ending in September. This represents a 26% annual increase and accounts for 19% of the market share.
The expansion of the company has been fueled by a vigorous expansion through different sales avenues, as stated by Canalys. "Vivo earned the top spot due to the introduction of new products in more expensive price ranges along with bold channel margins", Senior Analyst Sanyam Chaurasia noted in the report.
Xiaomi, a tech company from China, came in second place with the shipment of 7.8 million devices, accounting for 17% of the market. They were closely trailed by the South Korean electronics behemoth Samsung, who secured 16% of the market share with 7.5 million units dispatched.
"Chaurasia notes that both Vivo and Oppo have used their enhanced online collections, including the T3 series from Vivo and K12 series from Oppo, to increase sales beyond their usually dominant offline markets."
