Red Bull Faces $5 Million Decision on Perez’s Future Amidst F1 Season Turbulence
Red Bull could be hit with a massive financial penalty amounting to millions if they decide to part ways with Sergio Perez, according to Stewart Bell's report, which outlines the substantial severance cost Red Bull would incur for terminating Perez's contract.
Carlos Sainz continued Ferrari's winning streak in Mexico, as the Spanish driver clinched another victory for the iconic red squad, marking his fourth career win. This triumph propelled Ferrari ahead of Red Bull into second place in the constructors' championship, setting their sights on the leading position with four races remaining.
Despite Scuderia's team leader, Frédéric Vasseur, previously stating that pursuing a championship wasn't a priority in Austin, the situation evolved once they moved further south.

"After Monza, our vehicle has performed effectively across various track designs, so I believe we'll remain competitive in the upcoming races as well," he stated.
The paddock buzzed with conversation amid the vibrant essence of Mexico at its peak: the fashion reflected the Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrations taking place on the Saturday following the Grand Prix, November 2nd, and the culinary scene was dominated by the popularity of the Taqueria, even among the drivers.
Significant payout if Red Bull decides to part ways
Understandably, the spotlight was on Sergio Perez's career prospects, as the Mexican driver confirmed before the event that he remains with Red Bull, even after experiencing a "difficult season".
"Ultimately, I belong to a group, a larger entity, and picture this: you've spent four years with the top team globally, and they've just decided to keep you on board for an additional two years," he mentioned.
"Hence, they appreciate what I do, which is the reason I've continued to stay."
However, it seemed like Checo's professional downfall was sealed during his home race, described by him as the “worst GP” ever experienced there. This came after his fifth elimination in the first qualifying session of the season and finishing the Grand Prix in 17th place, a significant 11 places lower than his teammate Max Verstappen, who despite receiving two 10-second penalties, finished ahead.
Pérez, whose most recent top-three finish was in China, half a year prior, has been a significant factor in Red Bull's decline in the team ranai-allcreator.com">kings, where they currently sit in third place, trailing behind McLaren and Ferrari. However, reports from ESPN suggest that Red Bull is unable to simply release the Mexican driver due to a contract termination fee of £3.85 million (approximately $5 million).
Sergio Perez has made it clear that his recent Formula 1 race in Mexico is not going to be his farewell performance, expressing confidence in his return to the lineup for the 2025 season. ❌Is Perez's return next year on the cards? pic.twitter.com/t99PaHdzwl— Crash.net – Formula 1 (@CRASH_NET_F1) October 27, 2024
Opinions among drivers vary regarding the modification of regulations. Verstappen, Checo's team member, faced criticism for forcing Norris off the track on two occasions, incurring a total of 20 seconds in penalties during his pit stop. This incident mirrors a previous one in Austin, where Norris received a penalty for overtaking him while they were both off the track.
Following developments, the FIA has initiated measures, with intentions to unveil an updated version of the F1 racing regulations document during the second-to-last race in Qatar. It is believed that modifications have received approval, pending the official endorsement from the Grand Prix Drivers Association.
However, certain individuals within the network believe that no modifications are necessary.
"Nothing controversial about it," stated Sauber's Valtteri Bottas. "It's simply that certain drivers are stretching the rules to their limits, almost to the point of mockery, but the regulations are straightforward."
Discussions are underway to renew agreements for Formula 1 races
Race organizers are actively engaging in discussions with Formula 1 to secure contract extensions, among them Mexico, which has its current agreement expiring following the upcoming year's race.
"Discussions have commenced with Formula 1, alongside the city [of Mexico] and government representatives, to establish a suitable alliance aimed at securing an extension," event director Alejandro Soberon stated.
"We're quite hopeful that the race will continue for numerous years to come."
The Grand Prix in Mexico City consistently ranks as a favorite among F1 races, attracting huge crowds every year. This year was no exception, with grandstands completely filled, demonstrating its status as a must-visit event. Impressively, tickets for this year's race weekend were snapped up in a mere two hours, drawing an impressive total of 404,958 attendees.
Belgium is also engaged in negotiations with Formula 1, holding a deal that extends through 2025. It is believed that the event organizers are pushing for a yearly race at Spa, preferring not to switch off hosting duties with the Netherlands. However, there's a growing challenge as Formula 1 is eager to broaden its footprint in Africa and Asia, exploring opportunities through discussions with South Korea, Thailand, and Indonesia.
The racing teams are looking forward to some downtime following this weekend, as Brazil marks the final destination in the initial trio of back-to-back race weekends concluding the 2024 season.
The journey continues to São Paulo, the biggest city in the southern hemisphere, and the location of the iconic Interlagos circuit. Here, the sport will honor the memory of the esteemed three-time F1 World Champion Ayrton Senna, commemorating 30 years since his death.

As expected, the ongoing discussion surrounding Perez's role with Red Bull remains a prominent subject.
According to reports, Red Bull's stakeholders are planning to convene at the end of the season to discuss the fate of Perez.
His lackluster showings have probably ruined their chances of winning the constructors' championship.
Perez believes he is nearing a return to his peak performance after making a comeback to secure 10th place in Las Vegas.
He expressed that they grasped what occurred during qualifying the previous day, acknowledging the current situation. He mentioned that they are nearing a breakthrough, with their speed improving and progress being evident.
"We are moving forward and have a clear grasp of what occurred during yesterday's qualifying session. There were areas where we could have performed better, and we fell short. Our team is committed to putting in the effort necessary to improve in the final two races."
In Las Vegas, Perez was eliminated during the first qualifying session but managed to bounce back and finish within the top ten.
The Mexican stated that an improved outcome could have been achieved with a more effective strategy.
He commented, "I believe we were surprised by how much degradation we experienced. We didn't anticipate it would be this severe, and it ended up affecting us significantly, unfortunately."
"We chose the optimal tire at an inopportune moment, which led to an extended period on the medium tires. This left us exposed during the middle phase, resulting in a somewhat disjointed strategy, regrettably."

The KTM competitor had a varied MotoGP season in 2024.

However, Binder found it challenging to secure victories in any grand prix events, unlike Aprilia, which managed to do so, due to KTM's occasional struggles with maintaining competitive performance.
In the upcoming season, Binder will welcome Pedro Acosta as a teammate in the factory team's garage.
KTM's Tech3 squad will benefit from the expertise of Maverick Vinales and Enea Bastianini.

Casey Stoner Shocks with Speed and Insight During Surprise VR46 Motor Ranch Visit
Rumors suggest Casey Stoner remains incredibly quick following an unforeseen visit to Tavullia
"It was surprising to see how technically 'ready' he was…"
Casey Stoner recently traveled to Italy for the EICMA motorcycle exhibition in Milan, which also included a stop at the VR46 Motor Ranch to meet up with his old MotoGP competitor, Valentino Rossi, and the participants of Rossi's VR46 Riders Academy.
Since its establishment in 2014, Luca Marini has been an integral member of the VR46 Academy. He has valued Stoner's insights into the current mechanics of MotoGP, a domain Stoner exited 12 years ago, as well as his viewpoints on the contemporary condition of the sport.

"I hold him in high esteem; he's an athlete endowed with remarkable skill and quickness, coupled with an astute intellect."
"I was surprised to find out he's so well-versed in the technical aspects. Having conversations with him about the current MotoGP era and its history is fascinating; I believe he has some truly innovative ideas."
"Let's wait and see if he possesses the vitality to possibly take up a role with us in MotoGP down the line."
The present rider from HRC didn't get to spend much time on the track with Stoner at the Ranch: "During his fast laps on the last outing, I wasn't with him; initially, I only did a few laps alongside him to introduce him to the circuit and the riding technique."
Nonetheless, the Italian was struck by Stoner's rapid pace during his initial trip to the VR46 Ranch.
"Marini described him as incredibly quick," adding, "Though Stoner was on a two-stroke, which might not be the ideal choice for speed at the VR46 Motor Ranch, he managed to clock a remarkably good lap time on his first attempt."
"I believe he might feel quite pleased; he did a great job."

Rivalries and Records: The Tale of Rossi’s Frustration and Biaggi’s Triumphs in MotoGP’s 2003 Offseason Drama
Max Biaggi achieved record-breaking performances, while Valentino Rossi was frustrated, unable to try out the M1.
He shared with me, saying, "I believe we made a mistake."
Recollections of an irritated Valentino Rossi complaining from his home during a key MotoGP event have been recounted.
In a significant chapter of MotoGP history, Honda denied Rossi the opportunity to test the Yamaha before making his manufacturer switch in late 2003.

He sat there fuming, observing as his competitor Max Biaggi set a significant benchmark for the upcoming season by outstandingly breaking the record in the 2003 postseason test.
"Uccio Salucci revealed to GPOne that Vale's final year at HRC wasn't enjoyable for him."
Indeed, he began to feel fatigued. Our pace had decreased, and his interest in attending the races had significantly diminished.
"This is the reason I explained to him that adjustments were necessary. We agreed on switching to Yamaha."
"Honda did not authorize us to conduct trials with the M1 immediately after the championship concluded."
"In that period, Biaggi made a switch, moving from Yamaha to Honda."
It's undeniable that during the trials, Biaggi quickly set new record times.
Vale was frustrated because he was stuck at home on the sofa, unable to try out the M1.
"He admitted to me, 'I believe we made a mistake.'"
Rossi's debut on the Yamaha was postponed to the beginning of 2004 at Sepang.
Salucci remembered, "Following three or four circuits, Vale returned to the pit and exclaimed, 'we can make it happen!'"
"He announced to the group in the garage, 'fellows, there's room for enhancement, yet this motorcycle isn't too shabby.'"
He humorously remarked, "Upon listening to Valentino's comments, a few engineers were so shocked they passed out! This made everyone burst into laughter!"
Rossi notably claimed victory in the 2004 season opener in South Africa, marking his first race with Yamaha, following an intense battle with Biaggi.
"Salucci was adamant, stating after FP2 concluded, 'we are destined for victory here'."
He emerged victorious in the race, and I captured that image of him chuckling beside his bicycle.
"Numerous individuals believe he shed tears at that moment. However, he actually burst into laughter, as throughout that period, Vale endured much hardship. That triumph represented his freedom."
"In the subsequent competition, he shared with me, 'let's avoid the error we made in 2000'. Let's have faith because I'm determined to clinch the championship."
In 2004, during his inaugural year with Yamaha, Rossi successfully secured the championship title.
The following year, he continued his winning streak, cementing Yamaha's association with his victories.
Rossi secured nine world championships throughout his career, yet his inaugural victory with Yamaha, marked by its distinctive beginning, will always be celebrated.

United in Development: Bagnaia and Marquez Share Similar Feedback on Ducati’s GP25 Ahead of 2025 MotoGP Season
Pecco Bagnaia remarked, "Marc Marquez and I have a remarkably similar intuition" regarding GP25.
"Our impressions and Pecco's feedback closely aligned."
Francesco Bagnaia has confirmed that he and Marc Marquez have already shared their insights on the 2025 model of the Ducati.
This week, during the postseason test, Bagnaia welcomed Marquez as his latest team member in the Ducati team's official garage for their first collaboration.

Their partnership may be closely examined, especially since they are both past winners looking to reclaim their glory. However, at present, they share a mutual goal: to create the top-notch GP25.
"Bagnaia described the test as a successful day."
The newly released bicycle is exhibiting impressive performance and demonstrates significant promise.
Naturally, both the team and the engineers will keep enhancing it throughout the winter since there are still aspects that require further development.
Taking the GP24 as an example, particularly in the area of braking, it continues to set the standard. The engine packs a lot of power, which pleases me, and the chassis also meets our expectations – it's clear we're moving in the right direction.
"Marc and I engaged in numerous conversations to evaluate our impressions, and despite our contrasting approaches to riding, we were lucky to have a closely matched sensation when it came to the bike."
"Overall, I'm satisfied with the outcome of the examination."
Marquez mentioned, “Returning to my duties as a factory rider felt rewarding.”
Within manufacturing group settings, the approach to testing varies slightly – it involves experimenting with numerous elements and providing feedback with utmost accuracy.
"Our primary focus was on advancing the GP25, aiming to identify its strengths and weaknesses in comparison to the motorcycle I used this year."
In conclusion, we conducted a comparison against the GP24. There are areas that require further enhancements, given that it's challenging to arrive at the track with a novel motorcycle and immediately match the performance of last year's model.
"The positive aspect is that the input from both myself and Pecco closely aligned, which should streamline the efforts of the engineers back at the workshop during the winter months.
"On the whole, the outcome is favorable, and it pleases me."
Marquez is moving from last year's equipment at Gresini to Ducati's most recent model in 2025.
After a year of competing on an outdated model, he will now have access to the same equipment as Bagnaia.
Marquez and Bagnaia are scheduled to test the GP25 at the upcoming Sepang shakedown next year.
For ten years, James worked as a sports reporter for Sky Sports, where he covered a wide range of sports including American games, soccer, and Formula 1 racing.

Jorge Martin’s Mixed First Impressions with Aprilia: Positive Feedback Amidst Adaptation Challenges
Aprilia: "Jorge Martin had a positive outlook, though there were moments he struggled with controlling the motorcycle"
Massimo Rivola shares insights from Jorge Martin's feedback
Massimo Rivola has detailed the ups and downs of Jorge Martin's initial rounds on an Aprilia.
Just two days after securing his first-ever MotoGP championship title, Martin transitioned from the Pramac Ducati team to Aprilia's official factory team.

He will defend his title on a different motorcycle, one that didn't perform as well as the Ducatis this season, though it's a project that has potential for improvement.
"Aprilia's CEO, Rivola, expressed a highly optimistic sentiment regarding Martin's initial trial."
"He provided more affirmative responses than anticipated."
Clearly, some aspects are superior, while others have room for enhancement.
Overall, he's quite fond of the bike. However, we've also observed instances where he struggled with it on the screen.
We have a notion of his desires.
"Furthermore, it's noteworthy that Marco Bezzecchi shared similar thoughts. Thus, the path forward is evident."
They began with the 2024 model of the bike before progressing to the 2025 version.
"The trajectory of the '25 appears more promising than the '24, suggesting we could take further actions along this path."
"I'm confident and pleased with today."
Martin competed using the number 89 on both his racing suit and motorcycle, and is still considering whether to switch to the number 1 plate for the 2025 season.
Aprilia and Ducati have engaged in a tit-for-tat regarding Martin's victory on one motorcycle, followed by his endorsement of a competing brand.
"Major adjustments to tackle a significant challenge"
For the 2025 season, Aprilia has brought Marco Bezzecchi on board from VR46, offering him his first opportunity to compete with a factory team.
Martin and Bezzecchi were left without spots after Ducati chose Marc Marquez for their official 2025 lineup.
The Aprilia team saw significant changes in their lineup during the offseason test, as both Maverick Vinales and Aleix Espargaro were no longer part of the team.
"Rivola noted the distinctiveness of the situation, highlighted by the presence of Fabiano Sterlacchini as the technical director, the inclusion of a new crew chief, and the addition of a few mechanics."
"Major adjustments to tackle a significant obstacle."
"Witnessing the connection among the individuals was remarkable. Observing a cohesive group was truly heartening. Experiencing this sense of unity was gratifying."
Aprilia aims to at least emerge as Ducati's primary competitors by 2025, if not surpass them.

He departs from a KTM that experienced a disappointing season, unable to leverage its promising start in 2023.
Miller was questioned about the recommendations he would make to KTM for enhancing their motorcycle in the upcoming year.
“Clearly, the engine is in fine condition; it’s robust,” he stated.
"They offer an impressive performance bundle."
The bicycle isn't lacking in speed. It might benefit from an increase in initial power when accelerating and a reduction in RPM to cover additional distance.
The upper range is impressive.
"The one aspect I'd focus on correcting is the vibration."
Miller stated that he has faced difficulties adjusting to the 2024 tyre on the KTM.
"He mentioned that, except for the engine, the bike closely resembles last year's model."
"The frame and the arm that swings remain unchanged.
"Things were operating smoothly towards the end of the previous year. However, this year marked a regression in progress."
Halfway through the season, KTM made the decision to cut ties with Miller and bring in Pedro Acosta from their Tech3 satellite team as his replacement.
Subsequently, Miller lost the opportunity for a Tech3 spot as Maverick Vinales and Enea Bastianini were secured for the positions.
His expertise and proficiency in crafting MotoGP motorcycles have been highly praised as he becomes part of the fresh Pramac Yamaha initiative.
With experience at Honda, Ducati, and currently KTM, Miller contributes a wealth of expertise.
He teams up with Miguel Oliveira, who is set to contribute insights on the 2024 Aprilia model.

Trackhouse Aprilia Faces Major Setback as Wilco Zeelenberg Departs: Oliveira Highlights a ‘Huge Loss’ for the Team
Departing MotoGP leader greatly missed by emerging squad
"In my view, his departure is a significant setback for the squad."
Miguel Oliveira's tenure with the Trackhouse Aprilia squad concluded after the recent Solidarity Barcelona Grand Prix. However, the rider from Portugal suggests that the exit of another team member will be significantly detrimental to the performance of the American-based team.
Oliveira was associated with Trackhouse for a year, yet his tenure extended to two years with the same group as it transitioned from RNF to its present form last winter, with virtually no changes in staff.

Wilco Zeelenberg became a part of the squad in 2019, during the period it was known as Petronas Yamaha SRT, and remained with them until the end of the current season.
The ex-World Championship contender, who clinched victory at the 1990 250cc German Grand Prix, continued in his position as team manager at Trackhouse throughout the current year, even after Davide Brivio took over as team principal during the winter season.
Yet, a reorganization within the team's leadership will result in Zeelenberg's departure by 2025.
"Oliveira mentioned that Wilco Zeelenberg has significantly contributed to the team, highlighting his excellent collaboration."
"Most often, he's aligned with the riders, frequently serving as the connector between our emotions and the technical reality."
"Wilco brings a wealth of experience to the table and genuinely grasps our point of view when interacting with us. He's consistently a great addition to the team."
"It's unfortunate that he's departing. When you look at current MotoGP teams, they invariably include someone like him in their crew, perhaps a former rider who's retired but truly grasps our requirements.
"His departure is a significant setback for the squad."
Raul Fernandez, set to remain with Trackhouse through 2025, mentioned that not only will he miss Zeelenberg, but he will also feel the departure of numerous other team members exiting Trackhouse this winter.
"Fernandez expressed, "It feels quite odd because it's not only Wilco [Zeelenberg] who's departing, but we're also saying goodbye to three other team members this weekend."
"Indeed, upon my arrival at the team, each one of them supported me. In recent years, I faced a particularly tough period personally, and their assistance was invaluable."
"It will be odd for me to reach the box and not find Wilco or anyone else there."
In August 2024, Alex became part of the team at Crash.net after spending two years reporting on both consumer and racing motorcycle news for Visordown.

Leclerc’s Fury Unleashed: A Foul-Mouthed Radio Rant Shakes Ferrari Post-Las Vegas GP
Charles Leclerc unleashed a vehement, expletive-laden tirade over the radio against Ferrari after the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Charles Leclerc expressed strong frustration with Ferrari through a remarkable, swear-laden communication over the radio after the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix.
Initially, Leclerc had advanced to second place early in the race but eventually fell to fourth, just one position lower than his Ferrari colleague Carlos Sainz, who secured a spot on the podium.

The driver from Monaco emerged in front of Sainz following his ultimate pit stop, and it was communicated to him that his departing teammate wouldn't surpass him.
Race strategist Bryan Bozzi informed Leclerc, "We've instructed Carlos not to pass you, but the positions are very tight, and you could possibly be leading. He's been advised not to challenge you. So, focus on preserving your tyres."
Sainz managed to pass Leclerc, who then suggested over the team radio, “Perhaps attempt it in Spanish.”
Sainz, set to move to Williams in the upcoming season after being succeeded by Lewis Hamilton, crossed the finish line three seconds before Leclerc.
On the cool-down lap back to the pits after the race, Leclerc's frustration was palpable through the team radio, unable to conceal his irritation.
BB: "Could someone come to get me?"
CL: "Of course, anything you wish, like always."
BB: "Charles, you've completed your task. Alright, I appreciate it."
CL: "Indeed, I fulfilled my duties, but consistently, being courteous backfires on me, without fail. It's not even about courtesy, it's about showing respect."
BB: "Charles! Charles!"
CL: “I'm aware I should remain silent, yet it becomes repetitive after a while, so…oh my goodness.”
BB: "Alright. But regardless, you made the correct decision for the team."
BB: "Could you please pick it up?"
CL: "Yes, yes, just answer it. Choose whatever you like. I apologize, the radio is playing…"

Verstappen Shuts Down Talks of Future Post 4th F1 Title Victory: A Focus on Celebration, Not Speculation
"Out of my thoughts" – After clinching the F1 championship, Max Verstappen dismisses speculation about his Red Bull tenure
"Absolutely not something I'm considering. My focus is elsewhere."

The Dutch driver has become a member of a prestigious group of racers to clinch four straight drivers’ titles, a feat previously achieved by Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel, and Lewis Hamilton.
Even with his achievements in the past four years, there's ongoing speculation about his continuation in Formula 1 and with the Red Bull team.
Earlier this year, Mercedes showed a keen interest in acquiring Verstappen, who has dismissed the idea of competing into his 40s, unlike Hamilton and Fernando Alonso.
Following his championship victory, Verstappen was queried on his career prospects by Sky Sports.
He responded, "I'm incredibly honored to be a member of this team. Together, we're toasting to our fourth global championship. That's my sole focus right now, nothing else is taking up space in my thoughts."
Verstappen's triumph in the 2024 championship stands out as his most remarkable, especially considering that since the Imola race in May, McLaren has consistently had a faster vehicle.
The pivotal moment in the championship occurred in Brazil, where Verstappen showcased exceptional skill in rainy conditions to secure a vital win.
Discussing his recent championship victory, he expressed, "It's an incredible feeling. The season was extensive, filled with numerous races. We had our share of both excellent and challenging races. The key was to make the most out of every track."
"Certainly, at times, it's about minimizing harm. Ultimately, feeling a great sense of pride in our accomplishments."
2023 continues to hold the top spot for Verstappen
Regardless of the circumstances surrounding his championship win, Verstappen still holds 2023 in the highest regard.
Verstappen secured victories in 19 out of the 22 races last season, clinching 10 consecutive wins during the season's midpoint.
"Each title has its unique charm," he shared. "The previous year remains my top choice, though at times it feels like our accomplishments, especially securing 10 consecutive victories, weren't fully acknowledged by some."
"Our vehicle was leading the pack, though perhaps not to the extent many believe. This victory holds significant importance for us, given how we managed the entire situation."

"They've outperformed everyone. He's been perfect. Truly earned."

The driver from the Netherlands has secured victories in eight races so far this season, with seven of those wins happening within the first 10 races.
Since late June, Verstappen has secured only a single victory (in Brazil), with McLaren generally outperforming Red Bull during this period.
Following the race in Las Vegas, Hamilton shared his opinions on Verstappen's most recent championship win.
He expressed to Sky Sports, "Huge congratulations to Max and his team. They've performed incredibly well over the last four years.
"They've truly excelled. He's been flawless. Truly earned."
Regarding Hamilton's performance, he made a remarkable comeback from a disappointing 10th place in the qualifying round to secure a second-place finish.
This marked the season's first 1-2 finish for Mercedes, with George Russell securing the victory.
Hamilton dismissed the notion of pondering "what ifs" regarding his race pace compared to Russell's, stating, "No, no. I don't view it in those terms," he remarked. "I'm focused on looking ahead. Today's progress felt fantastic. I'm genuinely pleased."
"He suggested that the team might not fully grasp the reason behind their remarkable speed. "The car performed exceptionally well today. It was a fantastic display. The crew executed the pit stops brilliantly," he mentioned.
Achieving a first and second place finish is truly incredible. I'm thankful I managed to regain the positions I'd lost, and if I had performed as expected yesterday, the race might have been somewhat smoother. Nonetheless, making my way up from the back was enjoyable.
"It brought back memories of my childhood at Rye House, where I used to pass by others."
