The Prime Minister has stated that new injections for weight loss might help individuals return to the workforce, thereby enhancing the economy.

Sir Keir Starmer mentioned that vaccinations might also alleviate some of the strain on the NHS.

"The prime minister said on BBC Breakfast that these medications could significantly benefit our economy and health."

Health Secretary Wes Streeting has proposed that vaccinations be offered to those who are unemployed as a means to assist them in re-entering the workforce.

In an article for The Telegraph, Mr Streeting stated: "The increasing size of our waistlines is not only a health risk but also imposes a heavy financial strain on our healthcare system, with an annual cost to the NHS of £11 billion – surpassing even the expenses related to smoking. This issue is also a drag on our economic progress.

"Obesity-related illnesses result in individuals taking an average of four additional sick days annually, with many being compelled to leave their jobs entirely."
