Kimi Antonelli shares wisdom received from Lewis Hamilton prior to his first race with Mercedes F1 next season.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli claims that data from Mercedes' Formula 1 team indicates his driving technique closely resembles that of Lewis Hamilton.

The young Italian, aged 18, is set to ascend to F1 with Mercedes in the upcoming season, taking over from Hamilton who is making a major move to Ferrari.

Antonelli secured the open position next to George Russell with his impressive performance in a Formula 1 test following the Belgian Grand Prix.

At the Festival dello Sport in Trento, the Mercedes junior disclosed that Hamilton is assisting him in getting ready for his F1 debut next year.

"Antonelli mentioned that Hamilton's friendliness and frequent conversations with him were a pleasant surprise."

Antonelli captured the media's attention during his initial FP1 appearance at Monza, which concluded in an accident merely 10 minutes into the session.

"He expressed his readiness for F1, mentioning, "Regarding speed, I believe it won't pose an issue.

"The primary focus will be on efficiently organizing the weekend and familiarizing oneself with all the necessary procedures. Hence, there's going to be a significant amount of learning involved."

"Securing victories in a few races [next year] would be an absolute dream come true. It's not going to be a walk in the park since every team will bring a competitive vehicle to the table, making the challenge quite tough. However, that's the goal we're aiming for."
