Zarco Optimistic About New Honda Aero Boost Ahead of Catalan MotoGP
Johann Zarco Reports Positive Outcome from Honda's Latest Aerodynamic Improvements at Mugello
Johann Zarco attributes enhanced maneuverability to the updated Honda fairing, with HRC making efforts to prepare it for the upcoming Friday practice session in Catalunya.
Johann Zarco has disclosed that HRC is exerting efforts to prepare sufficient variants of Honda's latest aerodynamics in time for the Friday practice session at the Catalan MotoGP.
The recently developed fairing achieved a 'positive outcome' during the latest confidential Mugello trials, which saw participation from all four Honda racing competitors.
The Repsol teammates, Joan Mir and Luca Marini, put various new components through their paces, such as engine enhancements, while LCR's Zarco and Takaaki Nakagami concentrated on aerodynamic improvements.
"Zarco expressed on Thursday in Barcelona that the biggest challenge they faced with the aerodynamics, which performed well in Mugello, was the preparation of multiple fairings and ensuring everything was painted within a single week."
"Frankly, the exceptional outcome at Mugello wasn't anticipated. They made every effort to prepare for this event, but they're continuing to push to have everything set for Friday."
"The French rider expressed satisfaction, noting improvements experienced during the test. He mentioned that the bike's maneuverability had indeed enhanced, a sentiment that was later validated through extensive data analysis conducted post-test.
"It's moving in a favorable direction. I believe it's something they can standardize and then observe improvements throughout the remainder of the season."
"I'm eager to find out whether this variance we've encountered will significantly aid us in the competitions here."
In this case, Zarco could potentially achieve his season's first top-ten finish.
"I'm eager to see if I can secure a spot in the top ten! It's something I'm really hoping for, and it would be fantastic to achieve it here in Barcelona," he expressed.
