Yuki Tsunoda Open to “Interesting Offers” as Red Bull Future Remains Uncertain
Yuki Tsunoda is open to "appealing proposals" should Red Bull not display any enthusiasm
Yuki Tsunoda speaks on his career prospects and his openness to opportunities beyond Red Bull.
Yuki Tsunoda has indicated his openness to "enticing proposals" should Red Bull not view him as a potential partner for Max Verstappen.
Tsunoda is among multiple F1 racers whose contracts are set to expire by the close of 2024.
The Japanese racer has consistently excelled this season, frequently advancing to Q3 and earning points for the RB team.
Tsunoda has significantly surpassed Daniel Ricciardo, who was optimistic about taking over Sergio Perez's position for the upcoming year.
Tsunoda is expected to stay with RB as there are no superior alternatives available on the circuit.
Despite his impressive performance, Red Bull seems to be uninterested, whereas Aston Martin, which will be equipped with engines from the Japanese maker Honda starting in 2026, already has Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll under contract.
In a conversation with a group of chosen journalists, including those from Crash.net, before the Monaco Grand Prix, Tsunoda discussed his career prospects.
"He expressed his contentment, stating, "I'm quite pleased with VCARB at this point. Currently, we're contending closely for positions seven and eight. It seems that the leading teams have now solidified their spots.
"We might just be the top contenders when it comes to midfield performance. Time will tell. Being part of Red Bull, the goal is always to strive for Red Bull, but if they're not interested or don't see me filling that role.
"Should I receive a proposal that surpasses those from VCARB or Red Bull in intrigue, I would certainly consider it."
Since his Formula 1 debut in 2021, Tsunoda has been affiliated with the team located in Faenza.
Despite a lackluster debut season, Tsunoda held onto his seat next to Pierre Gasly.
From 2022 onwards, Tsunoda has consistently demonstrated significant progress annually, securing his position as a dependable competitor.
Tsunoda admits his continued allegiance to Red Bull, yet recognizes Aston Martin as a potential alternative down the line.
"I am deeply committed to Red Bull because they are the reason I am where I am today, and the same goes for Honda. When it comes to Honda, perhaps Aston Martin might be a consideration, although Aston already has two drivers. The options are wide-ranging, but as of now, I am content with VCARB," he further mentioned.
