Yamaha Announces Paolo Pavesio as Successor to Lin Jarvis, Effective 2025
Yamaha appoints new managing director to succeed Lin Jarvis
Paolo Pavesio set to take on role in 2025
Paolo Pavesio has been appointed to take over Lin Jarvis' position at Yamaha.
Starting January 1, 2025, Pavesio will assume the role of managing director at Yamaha Motor Racing.
Before, he held the position of Director of Marketing and Motorsport at Yamaha Motor Europe. During his tenure, he reorganized the motorsport division, leading to world championship victories in World Superbikes, EWC, and MXGP.
Pavesio is set to take over from Jarvis, who will conclude his 26-year leadership role at Yamaha.
Jarvis guided Yamaha to secure eight rider championships, six manufacturer championships, and seven team championships. He managed the peak periods of the Japanese company with Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, along with their latest championship win with Fabio Quartararo.
Despite stepping down from his role as managing director, Jarvis will continue to serve Yamaha in the capacity of Senior Advisor.
“On a personal level and representing Yamaha, I extend my gratitude to Lin for his commitment and accomplishments throughout these 26 years,” stated Takahiro Sumi, who serves as the General Manager of the Motor Sports Development Division.
His dedication, hard work, and leadership have played a crucial role in Yamaha's achievements in MotoGP, and I'm pleased that we will continue to benefit from his expertise in the future.
Paolo Pavesio is set to take over from Lin as the Managing Director. Pavesio comes with extensive experience that he acquired while serving as the Marketing and Motorsport Director at YME, where he led Yamaha teams to secure World Championship titles in WorldSBK, EWC, and MXGP.
"I am eager to have Paolo join YMR in January and believe that with his guidance, Yamaha will achieve the MotoGP success we are all aiming for."
