Yamaha Announces Paolo Pavesio as New Managing Director, Succeeding Lin Jarvis in 2025

Paolo Pavesio is set to take over from Lin Jarvis at Yamaha.
Starting January 1, 2025, Pavesio will take on the role of managing director at Yamaha Motor Racing.
Before his current role, he served as the Head of Marketing and Motorsport for Yamaha Motor Europe, where he led a significant overhaul of the motorsport department. This reorganization paved the way for the team to secure world championship titles in World Superbikes, the Endurance World Championship
Pavesio is set to take over from Jarvis, who is stepping down after leading Yamaha for 26 years.
Under Jarvis's guidance, Yamaha secured eight championships for riders, six for constructors, and seven for teams. He was at the helm during the peak performances of Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo for the Japanese brand, and also during their latest championship victory with Fabio Quartararo.
While Jarvis is stepping down from his role as managing director, he will continue to serve as a Senior Advisor at Yamaha.
"On a personal level and representing Yamaha, I want to express our gratitude to Lin for his commitment and accomplishments throughout the last 26 years," Takahiro Sumi, the Head of the Motor Sports Development Division, stated.
His dedication, hard work, and guidance have played a crucial role in Yamaha's achievements in MotoGP, and I am pleased that we will continue to benefit from his expertise and insights moving forward.
Paolo Pavesio will take over the position of Managing Director from Lin, bringing with him an extensive background from his time at YME. There, serving as the Marketing and Motorsport Director, he led Yamaha teams to secure World Championship victories in WorldSBK, EWC, and MXGP.
"I am eagerly anticipating Paolo's arrival at YMR this January and believe that with his guidance, Yamaha will achieve the MotoGP success we all desire."
