Xinjiang Legislature Backs Sanctioned Firms, Rejects U.S. ‘Forced Labour’ Claims as Baseless
Xinjiang region in China pledges to boost assistance for companies affected by US 'forced labor' sanctions
The legislative measure describes US sanctions as 'unfounded' and advocates for creating a 'favorable social atmosphere' to foster the expansion of impacted businesses.
In a measure announced and implemented on Monday, the regional assembly criticized U.S. sanctions imposed on Xinjiang companies due to purported forced labor practices, advocating for the establishment of “a positive social environment” to foster the development of these enterprises.
"The legislature declared in a resolution passed on August 23 that it's imperative for the entire region to promptly assist in the growth of sanctioned businesses and their associated sectors."
"It is a justified position and an unavoidable duty for all governmental bodies, public organizations, companies, institutions, and every ethnic community in the region to strongly resist the US' unfounded sanctions on Xinjiang businesses, which are imposed under the guise of 'forced labor'."
