The leading theoretical journal of the Communist Party recently emphasized the danger posed by "destructive" "foreign powers" aiming to sway the minds of China's young people, by sharing segments of a speech made by Chinese President Xi Jinping six years prior.
In his 2018 address at the National Education Conference, Xi charged certain elements with attempting to "Westernize" Chinese young people and orchestrating a "color revolution." He emphasized the importance of ideological education in schools.
