Xi Jinping Reaffirms China’s Claim Over Taiwan, Extends Support to Hong Kong and Macau in National Day Speech

During a speech on National Day, China's President Xi Jinping issued a warning to Taiwanese separatists and emphasized backing for Hong Kong and Macau. He declared that the island represents the nation's 'sacred territory'.

At a formal gathering in Beijing commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic on Tuesday, Xi declared Taiwan to be "China's sacred land" and emphasized that "the people across the Taiwan Strait share a bond of blood."

"We need to foster spiritual unity among our fellow countrymen across the strait and firmly stand against separatist activities advocating for 'Taiwan independence,'" he stated.
