In a speech marking National Day, China's Xi Jinping issued a warning to proponents of Taiwanese independence, emphasizing China's claim to the island as 'sacred territory.' He also reiterated his support for Hong Kong and Macau.
During an official gathering in Beijing commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic, Xi declared that Taiwan is an "inviolable part of China" and emphasized that "the people across the Taiwan Strait share a blood bond."
He stated, "We must foster the spiritual unity of our fellow countrymen across the strait and firmly reject any separatist activities that advocate for 'Taiwan independence'."
