In a speech commemorating National Day, Chinese President Xi Jinping issued a warning to Taiwanese separatists and affirmed his backing for Hong Kong and Macau, describing Taiwan as the nation's "sacred territory."
During a formal ceremony in Beijing commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic on Tuesday, Xi stated that Taiwan is "China's sacred land" and emphasized that "the people across the Taiwan Strait share a bond of blood."
"He emphasized the need to foster spiritual unity among citizens on both sides of the strait and firmly stand against separatist movements advocating for 'Taiwan independence,'" he stated.
