China's Xi Jinping Issues Warning to 'Taiwan Separatists,' Affirms Backing for Hong Kong and Macau

During his speech on National Day, the Chinese leader declared the island to be the nation's 'sacred territory'

During an official ceremony in Beijing commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic, Xi declared that Taiwan is "sacred Chinese land" and emphasized that "the people across the Taiwan Strait share a blood bond."

"He emphasized the need to foster spiritual unity among citizens on both sides of the strait and to firmly stand against separatist activities advocating 'Taiwan independence,'" he stated.
