Xi Jinping Denounces Taiwan Separatism in National Day Speech, Affirms Solidarity with Hong Kong and Macau
During his National Day address, Chinese President Xi Jinping issued a warning to those advocating for Taiwan's independence and reiterated his backing for Hong Kong and Macau. He emphasized that Taiwan is considered 'sacred territory' of the nation.
During a formal ceremony in Beijing celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic on Tuesday, Xi declared that Taiwan is "China's inviolable land" and emphasized that "the people across the Taiwan Strait share a blood bond."
"He emphasized the need to foster spiritual unity among people on both sides of the strait and firmly reject any separatist activities aimed at Taiwan's independence."
