The Misano track is a place where Rossi cherishes memorable moments from his prime years in motorcycle racing.
At 45 years old, he continues to grace the stage, surrounded by the admiration of Italian fans.
Rossi took over the BMW from his teammate Martin, who had an excellent beginning by taking the wheel for the initial leg.
'The Doctor' had to defend against Charles Weerts, who ultimately finished in second place.
Securing a win at Misano served as the ideal preparation for the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans next month.
Rossi is set to participate in the renowned long-distance race for the first time.
Last year, he emerged victorious in a preliminary race leading up to the primary Le Mans competition.
Initially, coming up on Sunday in Misano, Rossi is a contender for the second race.
