Authorities have accelerated initiatives to create over 500 additional spots in prisons to accommodate those detained during recent riots.
Starting next week, an additional 567 spots will open up, Courts Minister Heidi Alexander informed Sky News.
Inmates are set to be distributed throughout a newly established residential section at Stocken Prison in Rutland and the recently converted HMP Cookham Wood, previously a youth offenders facility in Borstal, Kent, which shut down in March following condemnation as "inhumane" by the prison oversight authority.

The administration was already set to expand facilities to address the nation's issue with overcrowded prisons. However, they are accelerating these plans in response to recent riots, anticipating that many of the rioters will be detained in prison while awaiting trial.
Since last Tuesday, when unrest began due to incorrect rumors circulating on the internet that the individual responsible for a stabbing in Southport was a Syrian refugee who had come to the country by a small boat the previous year, police have detained numerous individuals. The suspect, however, was actually born in Wales.
Numerous individuals have begun to face trial, accused of multiple crimes such as engaging in violent disturbances, racial harassment, and the online incitement of racial hatred through threatening language.

Ms. Alexander stated, "We have secured extra spots in prisons for the immediate future."
"Those responsible for instigating this chaos must indeed be held accountable for their behavior."
The jail facilities are likely to stay congested, and ongoing disturbances could rapidly lead to the cells reaching full capacity.
Last month, Justice Secretary Shabana Mahmood declared that approximately 5,000 inmates would be granted early release to alleviate the strain on the penal system, with the initial releases scheduled for September.

This week, the government has expanded the number of courts available to process the growing number of arrested rioters, adding 70 prosecutors and operating 60 remand courts throughout the weekend.
Proposals for courts to operate around the clock, similar to measures taken during the 2011 riots, are facing skepticism as magistrates and criminal barristers have indicated that the criminal justice system is already operating at full capacity.
Officials have cautioned that individuals involved in riots will be met with the full extent of legal consequences.

On Tuesday, Ms. Mahmood posted on social media: "Regardless of your identity or the cause you support, arriving masked and armed with the intention to create chaos will result in severe legal consequences.
