The British government has arranged a commercial aircraft to evacuate UK citizens from Lebanon due to increasing conflict.
According to the Foreign Office, a flight is scheduled to depart from Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport on Wednesday, primarily to evacuate British citizens in vulnerable situations along with their spouses, partners, and dependent children under the age of 18.
Foreign Secretary David Lammy described the circumstances in Lebanon as unstable and likely to worsen rapidly, emphasizing that the protection of British nationals in the region remains a top concern.
He further stated, "This is the reason the UK government is organizing a flight to assist those wishing to depart. It is crucial that you evacuate immediately, as future evacuations cannot be assured."

Tensions are escalating in the Middle East following the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed during Israeli airstrikes on Beirut over the weekend.
The militant organization, supported by Iran, declared its readiness to combat if Israel initiates a ground assault, amid growing concerns that the intensifying conflict might lead to a widespread war in the region.
On Monday, Mr. Lammy announced that the government established a quick-action team dedicated to assisting the approximately 5,000 British nationals in Lebanon. Additionally, 700 soldiers have been deployed to Cyprus, and arrangements have been made on commercial airlines to facilitate their return.
The foreign secretary encouraged individuals seeking to escape to take advantage of this assistance without delay, warning that the government may not be able to ensure their safety should the situation worsen.
When questioned about his message to British citizens who have not followed his guidance, he stated, "I strongly advise them to depart as the conditions are rapidly changing.
"Although we are fully committed to safeguarding British citizens and have prepared accordingly, it's important to recognize that we might not be able to predict how quickly we can act if the situation significantly worsens in the near future."
