Tragedy Strikes Eastern China: 11 Dead as School Bus Plows into Crowd
In eastern China, a tragic incident occurred outside a school when a bus plowed into a crowd, resulting in the deaths of five children and six adults. The bus driver has been taken into custody following the crash, which left many others injured. This catastrophe took place shortly after state media reported on new initiatives aimed at enhancing student safety.
On Tuesday morning in eastern China, a bus collided with a group of people outside a junior high school, resulting in 11 fatalities and 24 injuries.
As reported by the state-run CCTV, the accident took place at approximately 7 a.m. outside the Foshan Junior High School in Dongping County, Shandong Province, on the second day back to school.
According to the report, the injured individuals were transported to the hospital.
According to Dongping police, the tragic incident resulted in the deaths of six parents and five students. Additionally, one individual sustained severe injuries, while 12 others are reported to be in stable condition. The status of the remaining victims has not been disclosed.
According to the police, the vehicle involved was a school bus tasked with transporting students. It veered off course and collided with a group of people at an intersection. Authorities have taken the driver into custody and are currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
