Tragedy and Community Response: Fatal School Bus Crash in Eastern China Sparks Local Blood Donation Drive
Five children and six adults have perished in eastern China following a tragic incident where a bus plowed into a school gathering. The driver of the bus has been taken into custody. In response to the accident, a nearby cinema has stationed blood donation vans at its location, following a widespread appeal on social media to help the many people injured in the mishap.
On Tuesday morning, a bus collided with a group of people outside a middle school in eastern China, resulting in 11 fatalities and 24 injuries.
State media CCTV reported that the accident happened at about 7 a.m. outside Foshan Junior High School in Dongping County, Shandong Province, on the second day of the school year.
According to the report, the injured were transported to the hospital.
According to Dongping police, the tragic incident claimed the lives of six parents and five students. Additionally, one individual sustained severe injuries, while twelve others are reported to be in stable condition. The status of the remaining victims has not been disclosed.
Authorities reported that the transportation involved was a school bus tasked with ferrying students. It veered off course near an intersection and collided with a group of people. Law enforcement has since taken the driver into custody and is currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
