Trackhouse provides update on Miguel Oliveira following surgery for fracture repair
Miguel Oliveira underwent surgery after crash in Mandalika
Miguel Oliveira is expected to be absent from the upcoming MotoGP races following a successful operation.
The Trackhouse racer had an accident while practicing for the Indonesian MotoGP at Mandalika.
Oliveira was transported to the hospital via helicopter, where doctors confirmed he had sustained several fractures to his radius bone.
Oliveira issued a statement confirming that he received immediate attention at the circuit's medical center before being taken to a nearby hospital to evaluate the extent of his injury.
“Following diagnostic evaluations, the fracture was set and stabilized.
The rider from Almada subsequently traveled to Lisbon, where Dr. Gonçalo Morais Sarmento and his team at Sant'Ana Hospital in Parede performed surgery to insert a plate for bone stabilization.
Miguel Oliveira is set for a meticulous recovery process, with an emphasis on the success of his recent surgery. During the initial week, he will need complete rest, after which he will assess the situation and determine the most suitable plan to return to riding as quickly as possible.
“Currently, all signs point to the rider missing the upcoming two races in Japan and Australia.”
Trackhouse announced that on Monday, Miguel was taken to Sant’Ana Hospital in Parede, Lisbon. There, Dr. Gonçalo Moarais Sarmento and his medical team carried out surgery to insert a plate and stabilize the bone.
"Miguel will take the week off to rest as his recovery plan is evaluated."
"The team will share more information once his return date is finalized."
