A Labour councillor who was previously suspended now faces charges of inciting violent unrest.
Ricky Jones, aged 57, was captured on video speaking to a gathering in London on Wednesday night, where he seemingly made statements and gestured in a way that incited others to engage in violence against far-right demonstrators, according to the Crown Prosecution Service.
After his court session at Westminster Magistrates' Court, Jones was taken into custody.
He did not plead, and he is scheduled to appear next at the Inner London Crown Court on September 6.
Deputy Senior District Judge Tan Ikram stated, "You are accused of speaking to an assembly during an anti-fascist rally where, referring to individuals you labeled as 'disgusting Nazi fascists', you reportedly declared 'we need to slit their throats and eliminate them'."

Before the court session, Jaswant Narwal, the top prosecutor for CPS London North, stated, "It is important to remember that the criminal case is currently underway, and the accused is entitled to a fair trial."
"It is crucial that no reports, comments, or sharing of information occur online that might potentially bias these legal proceedings."
Jones, a council member in Dartford, Kent, has been suspended from the Labour Party following his arrest on Thursday.
