Sir Keir Starmer has assured Sky News that a Labour government would not carry out any deportation flights to Rwanda.

The head of the Labour Party informed Sky News' political editor Beth Rigby that he intends to eliminate the program which currently plans to deport asylum seekers who arrive in the UK illegally from a safe nation like France to Rwanda, stating "there'll be no flights."

Today, Sir Keir affirmed Labour's intention to scrap the Conservatives' primary initiative aimed at curbing illegal immigration, although a spokesperson from the party stated that they would not halt any flights that are already scheduled.

However, Sir Keir informed Sky News, "There will be no flights. I intend to eliminate the program, which means there will be no departures.

If Labour emerges victorious in the upcoming general election, all flights scheduled for departure thereafter will be canceled.

"There are no flights, the Rwanda plan is just a costly trick that will not be effective."

Earlier, Sir Keir unveiled his strategy to address the issue of small boat crossings. His plan includes the establishment of a new Border Security Command staffed by hundreds of specialist investigators, the introduction of new counter-terrorism measures aimed at people smugglers, aspirations for a new partnership with Europol, and the implementation of a rules-based asylum system.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak labeled Sir Keir's proposal as "utter hypocrisy," asserting that all the initiatives the Labour leader unveiled are already being implemented by his administration.

"He stated that efforts are underway to address the backlog, with an increase in law enforcement officers intensifying their activities."

"Over a year ago, we made those announcements. If Keir Starmer is truly concerned, why then did he oppose the recent legislation we enacted that granted new authorities to our law enforcement personnel?"

Authorities have employed these measures to detain nearly 8,000 individuals linked to unlawful immigration, collectively sentencing them to several hundred years behind bars.

"He believes if it were his choice, all those individuals would be roaming our streets, which I see as sheer hypocrisy in his stance."

Sir Keir unveiled Labour's strategy during a speech in Dover, where he was joined by his latest MP, Natalie Elphicke, who recently switched allegiance from the Conservatives.

Some Labour MPs have expressed strong disapproval regarding her switch, as she was considered a right-wing member of the Conservative Party, particularly for her stance on immigration.

She has come under fire for standing by her former spouse, ex-Dover MP Charlie Elphicke, following his conviction for the sexual assault of two women. She has since issued an apology for her support of him.

Sir Keir stated that welcoming Mrs. Elphicke into the party demonstrates its transformation and illustrates the Conservatives' inability to lead the nation forward.

When questioned about being ruthless, he responded, "Indeed, I am ruthless when it comes to striving for a Labour government that can transform this nation for the better."

"I am not driven by personal ambition, nor am I specifically ruthless on behalf of the Labour Party."

"I am unyieldingly devoted to the nation."

He emphasized that the sole method to effect change in the UK is by "being relentless in our pursuit to win the general election and establish a government dedicated to public service."

"I show no mercy."

During our journey to Dover on Friday, where he presented his strategy to halt the small boat crossings, Sir Keir Starmer explained his reasoning behind admitting Natalie Elphicke into the Labour Party. Despite the uproar her entry caused among the Labour ranks this week, Sir Keir believed it was a justified decision.

He seized the opportunity to address the issue of migration firsthand in Dover, alongside the current Labour MP, Ms. Elphicke. He declared to the media that Mr. Sunak had not maintained secure borders and was not trustworthy.

In the realm of political drama, it was mercilessly executed. The timing was equally relentless, coinciding with the day the UK emerged from a recession.

Rishi Sunak was hoping the TV news would focus on the theme of overcoming economic challenges and "staying the course."

He received something different.

Recent survey results from Survation, released on May 9, indicate that the Labour Party is poised to secure a landslide win in the upcoming general election, capturing 486 seats, which represents 45% of the total votes. The Conservative Party trails significantly, 19 percentage points behind, at 26%.

Based on a mean calculation of the latest surveys from key polling organizations, the Labour Party is projected to lead by securing 43.5% of the votes, while the Conservative Party is expected to get 23.5%, and the Liberal Democrats are anticipated to receive 9.7%.

Sir Keir expressed uncertainty about securing a majority, though he remains hopeful.

In May 2023, he dismissed the possibility of forming an alliance with the SNP should he fail to secure a majority, though he left open the option of collaborating with the Liberal Democrats.

On Friday, he declared, "I am dismissing the possibility of any agreement with the SNP, whether before or after the election.

"Is my goal to achieve a Labour majority government? Absolutely, it is.

"Our success hinges on gaining the trust and confidence of voters nationwide."

When pressed about possibly forming an alliance with the Liberal Democrats, he did not dismiss the idea, stating, "I'm aiming for a majority."

"That's the same response I provided two years ago, and again last year."
